FIAT unveiled Multiplay at the Stellantis "The Night Before" event in Paris on 11 October 2026. At 4.45 metres it combines the space efficiency of an MPV, the character of an SUV and the versatility of a pick-up. FIAT is clear that it is a "laboratory of solutions", not a preview of a specific production model.

How it changes

The core idea is a rear module that slides longitudinally along guides, which FIAT calls the C-Pillar "Metamorfosi". In the family configuration the cabin has six seats plus the "Petsenger seat", a modular unit that can hold a child seat, a pet space, a small table or storage. Moving the module turns the car into a four-seat pick-up with an open bed for bicycles, sports gear or bulky items.

The rear spoiler has a second job: it rotates to become a bike rack for up to two bicycles when the car is in pick-up form.

A cabin for families

  • The third row. FIAT claims the rear compartment fits up to two children and, if needed, an adult — a response to the usually unusable third row of family cars.
  • Pets. The outer part of the Petsenger seat cushion can be detached and used as a lead, and a door compartment holds a folding bowl.
  • "Sunseat". The front passenger seat turns to face the rear and uses the dashboard as a backrest, creating a lounge under the panoramic roof while parked.
  • Display. The display is hidden in the dashboard and disappears when the car is switched off.

Heritage and colour

FIAT places Multiplay in a line with the 1956 600 Multipla (six people in about 3.5 metres) and the 1998 Multipla (six seats in two rows in a car under four metres). The colours come from a watermelon: a bright green body and a red-pink cabin, with a soft pink floor. Most soft parts are made of one material only (monomaterial textile) using a no-stitch 3D knitting process.

What is not given

FIAT gives no powertrain, battery or range data. At the event, Olivier François symbolically handed the keys of the concept to Arnaud Belloni, CEO of the FIAT, Abarth and Lancia brands.
