Citroën presented the 2 CV Concept at the Stellantis "The Night Before" event in Paris on 11 October 2026, ahead of the Paris Motor Show. Stellantis describes it as "not replicating an icon" but reinventing an idea: a simpler, more accessible electric car that puts freedom and joy back at the centre of mobility.

The context

The 2 CV came back as a story for Citroën earlier this year. A press release on 22 May 2026 announced the return of the 2 CV. Citroën started a teaser campaign under the line "Time 2 meet again" on 30 September, and on 29 September it announced its Paris Motor Show stand under the title "Life feels better at the Citroën booth". The concept is the car that campaign was leading up to.

Design

The photographs show a small, rounded body in red-orange with round headlamps, the Citroën double chevron on the front and a plain bumper bar. The wheels have light, flat covers in the style of the original. The interior is bright yellow, with a white steering wheel, a round central display and a bench-style rear seat with a checked, quilted cover.

What is not given

The only hard figure in the press material is the €15,000 price target. There is no length, battery size, power output or range, and no information on when a production version might arrive. For a motor show concept, the price is the most important number, because it states the ambition: a small electric car for €15,000.
